Cheltenham Circles 2010
Digital mapping of all the circles in Cheltenham
The town of Cheltenham was mapped remotely through Google Earth. The locations of all circles visible from the sky were traced from a huge composite aerial photograph of the city. The photograph was then interpreted, and a category alotted to each circle, from the largest (GCHQ) down to the smallest (trampolines in back gardens) based only on what could be deduced from the photograph.
A digital print of the drawing of the circles was then made, each numbered and described. An image was then made of the circles in a reflective material on transparent acrylic sheet.
